The Homeland
La Patria is a visually spectacular, patriotic cocktail created to celebrate Mexican Independence Day by recreating the colors of the Mexican flag directly in the glass. The base is crafted by shaking artisanal mezcal with fresh lemon juice and sweet agave nectar with ice, then double-straining it until three-quarters full into a glass elegantly rimmed with agave syrup and salt. Using a bar spoon (cuchilla bailarina), bright green Midori melon liqueur and a rich, unsweetened hibiscus concentrate (jamaica) are carefully layered as floats to complete the stunning tri-color effect.
Ingredients:
45 ml Mitre Origin
30 ml Lemon juice
20 ml Agave Honey
30 ml Midori Melon Liqueur
30 ml Sugar-Free Hibiscus Concentrate
Instructions:
Place ice in a shaker, add Mezcal Mitre, agave syrup, and lime juice. Shake for 15 seconds and serve up to 3/4 full using a double straining technique in a glass rimmed with agave syrup and salt. Create the Mexican flag with Midori melon liqueur and top with a float of sugar-free hibiscus concentrate using a bar spoon.
