Paquerillo
Paquerillo is a bold, sultry after-dinner drink that pairs rich coffee depth with warm, spiced sweetness. It combines 1 oz of Paquera Espadín Mezcal, 1 oz of Spanish Licor 43, 1 oz of fresh espresso, and the squeezed juice of a thick orange slice. Shaken vigorously (including a dry shake to build a thick, velvety head of foam), it is served neat in a short rocks or coupe glass. The cocktail is completed with a fragrant dusting of freshly grated orange peel and ground cinnamon.
Ingredients:
1 oz Paquera Espadin Mezcal
1 oz Licor 43
1 oz Espresso
1 Thick slice of orange (for juice)
Fresh orange peel (for garnish)
Cinnamon (for garnish)
Instructions:
Combine: Add the Paquera Espadin Mezcal, Licor 43, and espresso into a cocktail shaker. Squeeze the juice from your thick slice of orange directly into the shaker.
Wet Shake: Add a single large ice cube (or 3–4 standard pieces—avoid using too much ice so the drink doesn't dilute) and shake vigorously for 20–30 seconds.
Dry Shake: Remove the ice from the shaker and shake the liquid again for another 10 seconds. This step creates a thick, frothy foam on top.
Pour: Pour the mixture neat (no ice) into a short rocks glass or a coupe glass.
Garnish: Freshly grate some orange peel and cinnamon over the frothy top before serving.
