Oaxacan Spritz

Oaxacan Spritz is an effervescent, bittersweet highball that brilliantly infuses the classic Italian aperitivo tradition with Mexican terroir. It layers 1.25 oz of The Lost Explorer Mezcal Espadín alongside 1 oz of bitter, botanical Aperol and 0.75 oz of fresh grapefruit juice to build a crisp citrus anchor. This base is lengthened with 2 oz of dry sparkling wine or Prosecco and a splash of soda water, served directly in a wine glass filled with fresh ice. Gently stirred to lift the bubbles, it is finished with an expressed grapefruit twist and a fresh rosemary sprig for a deeply aromatic, sun-drenched sipper.

Ingredients:

  • 1⅓ oz / 40 ml The Lost Explorer Mezcal Espadín

  • ⅔ oz / 20 ml Orgeat Syrup or any syrup

  • ½ oz / 15 ml Tío Pepe

  • Top - Champagne Brut or Prosecco

  • Garnish: Slice of lemon or cucumber

Instructions:

  • Shake, strain, ice cubes, bubbles. Combine all ingredients, except the Champagne/Prosecco, in a shaker. Shake. Strain into a wine glass filled with ice cubes. Top with the bubbles. Garnish with a slice of lemon and/or cucumber. Or freestyle a garnish as you wish—it’s a spritz!
