The Lost Word

The Lost Word is an assertive, highly aromatic agave-based variation of the classic prohibition-era Last Word cocktail. Following the traditional equal-parts template, it shakes together exactly 3/4 oz of smoky The Lost Explorer Mezcal Espadín, 3/4 oz of complex, herbaceous Green Chartreuse, 3/4 oz of bittersweet Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, and 3/4 oz of fresh lime juice. After being shaken vigorously with ice, the sweet, sour, and intensely herbal concoction is strained cleanly into a coupe glass and served without a garnish, letting the bold botanicals stand entirely on their own.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ oz / 25 ml The Lost Explorer Mezcal Espadín

  • ¾ oz / 25 ml Green Chartreuse

  • ¾ oz / 25 ml Lime juice

  • ¾ oz / 25 ml Luxardo Maraschino

Instructions:

  • Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a coupe. No garnish. Sip now, finish thoughts later.
