I Am Keith Hernandez

At new Upper East Side cocktail bar Jeremy’s, bar manager Ricardo Echeverri’s take on a dirty Martini swaps the expected gin or vodka for San Bartolo Mezcal. In homage to the briny classic, this version is shaken rather than stirred and garnished with a coppa-stuffed olive. The drink is named after the iconic Mets player and guest star on Seinfeld, Keith Hernandez.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 ounces mezcal, preferably San Bartolo

  • 1/2 ounce dry vermouth

  • 1/2 ounce olive brine

Instructions:

  • Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, and vigorously shake.

  • Strain into a Martini glass.

  • Garnish with an olive and smoked coppa on a pick.
