Clergyman's Lapse

The Clergyman's Lapse is a complex, herbaceous, and smoky cocktail that is reminiscent of a Last Word but inspired by the tiki classic Missionary's Downfall. It brilliantly balances a split base of London Dry Gin and smoky mezcal with the sweet stone fruit notes of crème de pêche, the herbal depth of Yellow Chartreuse, and the tart bite of fresh lime juice. Shaken and served up in a chilled coupe, this intriguing and perfectly balanced sipper is elegantly finished with an expressed orange zest twist.

Ingredients:

• 30 ml Hayman's London Dry Gin

• 15 ml Del Maguey Vida Clásico Mezcal

• 15 ml Yellow Chartreuse (or génépi liqueur)

• 15 ml Giffard Crème de Pêche de Vigne liqueur

• 15 ml Lime juice (freshly squeezed)

• 10 ml Chilled water

Instructions:

• Select and pre-chill a coupe glass.

• Prepare a garnish of orange zest twist.

• Shake all ingredients with ice.

• Fine strain into a chilled glass.

• Express orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.
