Alcatraz
An incredibly dry, earthy, and lightly bitter sipper that makes for a phenomenal apéritif. It uses a base of rich Añejo tequila, backed by a subtle splash of smoky mezcal. The agave notes are beautifully complicated by the nutty, oxidized depth of Oloroso sherry and the intense, root-forward bitterness of Suze (gentian liqueur).
Ingredients:
45 ml Patrón Añejo tequila
22.5 ml Lustau Oloroso Don Nuño Sherry
8 dropBob's Chocolate bitters
Instructions:
Select and pre-chill an old-fashioned glass
Prepare a garnish of orange zest twist.
Stir all ingredients with ice.
Strain into an ice-filled glass.
Express orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.
