Eclipse
Created in 2009 by Leo Robitschek and named for its rusty-orange-red hue, the Eclipse is a beautifully balanced, bittersweet apéritif. The cocktail harmoniously blends a base of Añejo tequila with cherry brandy, a bittersweet orange-red aperitivo (like Aperol), and fresh lemon juice. Finished with a smoky float of mezcal, it offers a refreshing yet complex profile where the agave sits perfectly alongside the vibrant cherry, bright citrus, and subtle woodsmoke.
Ingredients:
30 ml Patrón Añejo tequila
22.5 ml Cherry (brandy) liqueur
22.5 ml Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
Instructions:
Select and pre-chill an old-fashioned glass
No garnish to prepare.
Shake the first 4 ingredients with ice (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice)..
Strain into an ice-filled glass.
Float mezcal.
