R+D Night: Cardenxe Sotol

This month, our R+D series brings you on a journey through Northern Mexico with Cardenxe Sotol, a spirit as soulful as the desert songs that inspired it. Born from three friends in search of the near-forgotten Canto Cardenche, Cardenxe embodies love, sorrow, and connection, just like the music and cactus it’s named after.

Sotol, once smuggled during Prohibition and nearly lost to history, is now experiencing a renaissance as Mexico’s hidden gem. Smooth by nature and friendlier than most high-proof spirits, Cardenxe invites us to slow down, sip, and share moments that go deeper.

Join us as we explore sotol in all its forms, from neat pours that reveal its herbal, balanced character to inventive cocktails crafted for the night. As with every R+D, expect storytelling, discovery, and a chance to taste something rare and meaningful, because here at The Drake, we gather to celebrate.
