Zapatero Old Fashioned
Zapatero Old Fashioned is a decadent, beautifully spirit-forward nightcap that masterfully complements a rich bourbon base with a dominant, smoky pour of artisanal mezcal. Stirred with velvety almond orgeat syrup, aromatic bitters, and a dash of chocolatey mole bitters, this complex sipper is strained over a large ice cube, garnished with an orange twist, and finished with a dusting of freshly grated cinnamon.
Ingredients:
15 ml Bourbon whiskey
1 dash of Angostura Aromatic Bitters
1 dash of Xocolatl mole bitters
Instructions:
Select and pre-chill an old-fashioned glass.
Prepare a garnish of orange zest twist and grated cinnamon.
Stir all ingredients with ice.
Strain into an ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).
Express orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.
Dust with freshly grated cinnamon.
