Pastry War Margarita

Named after the 1838 conflict between France and Mexico, this Margarita riff uses a split base of tequila and mezcal combined with amaro and elderflower liqueur.

Ingredients:

  • 30 ml Patrón Reposado tequila

  • .15 ml Del Maguey Vida Clásico Mezcal

  • 15 ml Amaro (e.g. Montenegro)

  • 15 ml Elderflower liqueur

  • 15 mL Lime juice (freshly squeezed)2 drops Saline solution (20g sea salt to 80g water) or a merest pinch of salt

Instructions:

  • Select and pre-chill a coupe glass.

  • Prepare a garnish of lime wedge.

  • Shake all ingredients with ice.

  • Fine strain into a chilled glass.

  • Garnish with a lime wedge.
