Oaxacan Margarita

Oaxacan Margarita is a beautifully rustic, smoky upgrade to the classic margarita that highlights the complex, wild agave profile of Bozal Ensamble Mezcal. It combines 2 oz of the mezcal with 1 oz of fresh lime juice and 0.5 oz of sweet agave nectar. Shaken briefly with ice, the mixture is strained into a double rocks glass over fresh ice. It is served with a distinctive black salt rim and garnished with a dehydrated citrus wheel.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Bozal Ensamble Mezcal

  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice

  • 0.5 oz Agave nectar

  • Black salt (for the rim)

  • Dehydrated citrus wheel (for garnish)

Instructions:

  • Rim the glass: Coat the edge of a double rocks glass with black salt, then fill the glass with fresh ice.

  • Combine: Add the Bozal Ensamble Mezcal, fresh lime juice, and agave nectar into a cocktail shaker.

  • Shake: Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 7–8 seconds to chill.

  • Strain: Pour the mixture through a strainer into your prepared glass.

  • Garnish: Top with a dehydrated citrus wheel before serving.
