Margarita al Pastor

Margarita al Pastor is a highly creative, savory cocktail that translates one of Mexico’s most beloved street foods into an extraordinary liquid experience. Crafted to mimic the vibrant flavors of classic al pastor tacos, it is shaken for 15 seconds using artisanal mezcal, zesty orange liqueur, and tart fresh lime juice, combined with a custom pineapple-cilantro mix infused with fresh basil and a crack of black pepper. Strained into an old fashioned glass—gorgeously rimmed in a specialized cilantro chili powder over fresh ice—this drink achieves a perfect harmony of smoke, sweet tropical fruit, and distinct herbal spice.

Ingredients:

  • 50 ml Mezcal Mitre Origen

  • 60 ml Cilantro and Pineapple Mix (pineapple juice, cilantro, basil and pepper)

  • 15 ml Orange liqueur

  • 30 ml Lemon juice

  • 5g chili powder with ground coriander

Instructions:

  • Fill a shaker with ice and add Mezcal Mitre Origen, a cilantro and pineapple mix, orange liqueur, and lime juice. Shake for 15 seconds. Fill an old-fashioned glass to the top with ice. The glass will have been rimmed with chili powder and ground cilantro. Strain the drink into the glass.

  • Garnish with a slice of dried pineapple.
