Lavender Paloma
While margaritas will always have a special place in our hearts, palomas are right up there with them. A solid choice for the spring and summer seasons, the paloma cocktail shares many of the same ingredients, but yields a subtler sweetness as tangy pink grapefruit takes center stage alongside tequila blanco.
Ingredients:
1½ oz. Tequila Blanco
1½ oz. Mezcal
1½ oz. Fresh Pink Grapefruit Juice
1 oz. Lavender Syrup (recipe below)
½ oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1 Ripe Pink Grapefruit
Club Soda
Instructions:
Add ice to a Hybrid Cocktail Shaker and combine the tequila, mezcal, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and lavender syrup.
Shake vigorously for 10 seconds to chill and dilute, then strain into a Hybrid Cocktail Glass over a large ice cube.
Top with club soda and garnish with pink grapefruit.
Lavender Syrup:
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a small pot.
Add 1 TBSP of dried lavender buds, remove from heat,, and let steep for 10 minutes.
Add 3 cups of sugar and stir until dissolved.
Finely strain the syrup into a container and store in the fridge up to two weeks until ready for use.
