Cozy Cocoa

Cozy Cocoa is a rich, warming winter cocktail that elevates standard hot chocolate with a smoky agave kick and layers of spice. The foundation is an artisanal spiced hot chocolate made by melting 2 oz of dark chocolate into 20 oz of warm milk, alongside 2 oz of Ancho Reyes chile liqueur, rich caramel fudge, and a touch of sea salt. To build the individual cocktail, 6.75 oz of this warm, velvety chocolate mixture is poured into a comforting mug and stirred gently with 1.25 oz of The Lost Explorer Mezcal Espadín. It is beautifully finished with a fresh orange peel and a dusting of freshly ground cardamom.

Ingredients:

  • 1¼ oz / 35 ml The Lost Explorer Mezcal Espadín

  • 6¾ oz / 180 ml Hot Chocolate (recipe below)

  • Orange peel and fresh cardamom

Hot Chocolate Recipe:

  • 20 oz Milk

  • 1 bar of Chocolate,

  • 2 oz Ancho Reyes liquor

  • 2 oz Caramel fudge & sea salt to taste

Instructions:

  • Warm all hot chocolate ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat for a couple of minutes, or until fully dissolved. Then, pour the hot chocolate into a mug and add The Lost Explorer Mezcal Espadín. Stir gently. Garnish with an orange peel and freshly ground cardamom. Get cozy.
