Cantaluz
Cantaluz is a light, bittersweet, and fruit-forward highball that puts a uniquely bright spin on agave mixology. It beautifully pairs the award-winning, smoky undertones of Corte Vetusto Espadín Mezcal with sweet, juicy cantaloupe liqueur. A small splash of Suze adds a complex French botanical bitterness, while a few drops of saline solution enrich the fruit flavors. Topped with crisp club soda and built straight over fresh ice in a highball glass, it makes for a beautifully refreshing, layered summer sipper.
Ingredients:
35ml Cantaloupe liqueur
2.5ml (half a bar spoon) Suze
3 drops of saline solution (mix 1 part fine sea salt with 4-5 parts water)
Top with Franklin & Sons soda
Instructions:
Prep the saline solution: Mix 1 part fine sea salt with 4 to 5 parts water until dissolved.
Prep the glass: Fill a highball glass with ice.
Add the spirits: Pour 15ml Corte Vetusto Espadin Mezcal and 35ml Cantaloupe liqueur directly over the ice.
Add the bitter note: Measure and add 2.5ml (half a bar spoon) of Suze.
Season: Add 3 drops of your prepared saline solution to elevate the flavors.
Top it off: Fill the remainder of the glass with Franklin & Sons soda.
Mix and serve: Give it a gentle stir with your bar spoon to combine the ingredients without losing the carbonation, and enjoy!
