A Tale of Two

A Tale of Two is a rich, beautifully sophisticated riff on an Old Fashioned that masterfully plays with sweet, dark depth. It blends 1.5 oz of Lobos 1707 Tequila Reposado with 0.5 oz of Amaro Averna, a complex Sicilian herbal liqueur that brings layers of caramel, citrus, and spice. Balanced with 0.25 oz of rich demerara syrup and two dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters, the ingredients are stirred with ice until perfectly chilled and velvet-smooth. Strained into a rocks glass over a single large ice cube, the cocktail is elegantly completed with a premium cocktail cherry on a skewer.

Ingredients:

  • 2½ oz Tequila Lobos 1707 Reposado (or Añejo)

  • ½ oz Pedro Ximenez Sherry

  • 2 Dashes Chocolate Bitters

Instructions:

  • Stir all ingredients with ice until well-chilled, then fine-strain into a chilled cocktail coupe.
