Viviente Mezcal

ABOUT:

Viviente Mezcal is a spirited tribute to Michoacán, Mexico—specifically the town of Etucuaro—where rich regional heritage meets exceptional taste. "Viviente" translates to "living" or "alive," representing the brand's philosophy of celebrating life, honoring its Zapotec and Michoacán roots, and sharing the joy of a good mezcal with others. Through a time-honored artisanal process, their agaves are roasted in earthen pit ovens and double-distilled in copper pots by skilled local hands. While deeply dedicated to preserving ancestral techniques, Viviente also pushes boundaries by creating highly innovative, rare agave blends. Each bottle is a testament to meticulous small-batch production, capturing the authentic, wild soul of the Michoacán terroir.

MEZCALS OFFERED:

  • Cupreata: The brand's award-winning flagship expression, crafted from 100% wild Agave Cupreata endemic to Michoacán. It features an earthy, mineral-driven nose with aromas of river stones, chalk, and sea salt, complemented by hints of grapefruit, banana peel, roasted cocoa, and mesquite wood. On the palate, it delivers a distinctly mineral character perfectly balanced by gentle, sweet citrus notes of pineapple and guava, finishing with a lingering, warm, and lightly smoky fade.

  • Cupreata & Espadín (Ensamble): A harmonious blend that beautifully marries the natural rustic sweetness of Michoacán-grown Cupreata with the bright, vegetal character of Espadín. The aroma bursts with tropical fruits like green banana, fresh guava, and pineapple, grounded by scents of damp soil and tree bark. The tasting experience is vibrant and spicy, highlighting lime peel, pepper, ginger, cardamom, and herbal rosemary, concluding with a clean, smooth, and layered mineral finish.

  • Cupreata & Tequilana (Ensamble): A highly rare and innovative fusion of Mezcal and Tequila traditions, blending Cupreata agave with Blue Weber (Agave Tequilana). This expression offers a medium-to-high intensity aroma filled with green apple, peach, chamomile, and wet granite. The palate brings a delightful, slightly sour and acidic brightness, featuring sweet lemon and pineapple flavors, all wrapped in an unmistakable, elegant smokiness that lingers effortlessly for minutes.
