Soluro 1610
ABOUT:
Soluro 1610 is a deeply personal, family-run brand born out of a profound love for Zapotec heritage and community. Founded by third-generation mezcalero Luis Humberto Lopez, who was born and raised in the small village of San Dionisio Ocotepec in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca. After moving to the United States as a child, Luis dedicated his life to mastering his family's craft and eventually built his own palenque on family land to create employment opportunities for his village. The brand's name is a heartfelt tribute to his roots: it combines the first two letters of his and his parents' names (Sofia, Luis, Roberto) along with the year his village was founded (1610). Every bottle is a true family affair, crafted strictly using artisanal methods—cooking in conical earthen ovens, crushing with a horse-drawn stone tahona, fermenting naturally in open-air vats, proofing down with well water drawn by his father, and distilling in copper pots.

MEZCALS OFFERED:
Espadín: The remarkably smooth and accessible flagship of the brand, crafted from Agave Espadín matured for 8 years. The nose opens with a classic, inviting smokiness that gives way to a beautifully complex palate. It balances gentle, fresh herbaceous qualities with sweet fruit undertones, delivering a refined and highly approachable profile that shines whether sipped neat or mixed in craft cocktails.
Tobalá: A premium, artisanal expression made from wild Agave Tobalá that takes up to 14 years to mature in the rugged Oaxacan terrain. The nose is incredibly elegant, presenting a fragrant bouquet of bright floral notes and fresh citrus, particularly sweet orange. On the palate, lush fruit flavors intertwine flawlessly with warm baking spices and verdant vegetal undertones, all backed by a subtle, perfectly integrated smokiness that adds deep complexity without overpowering the delicate agave.
Madrecuishe: A stunning representation of Oaxacan terroir, crafted from the tall, wild Madre-Cuishe agave. This expression is highly celebrated for its distinctive, mineral-forward personality. The aroma offers an intriguing mix of Fuji apple and gardenia florals. The tasting experience is poised and sophisticated, revealing pronounced layers of wet-stone minerality balanced by delicate floral notes, sandalwood, a touch of pink peppercorn, and fresh vegetal undertones, finishing with an elegant hint of salinity.
