MEZCALS OFFERED:
Mezcal Unión is a 100% artisanal spirit, crafted in Oaxaca, Mexico, a state celebrated for its cultural and gastronomic richness. Embodying the philosophy, "Alone we go faster, but united we go further," we are dedicated to building and supporting our community. Our family of mezcals—Unión Uno, Unión Silvestre, and Unión El Viejo—invites you to explore the authentic taste of agave.
Mezcal Unión Uno: An un-aged (Joven) artisanal mezcal handcrafted with a blend of farm-grown Espadín and wild Cirial agaves, matured for 8 to 14 years. It is known for being an approachable entry-level mezcal with balanced fruity and herbal notes, along with a pleasant hint of smoke. Tasting notes often include fruits (like pear and green applewood), mint, wet soil, and lime, making it ideal for cocktails like the Margarita or Paloma.
Mezcal Unión Silvestre: A young, artisanal mezcal (Joven) that achieves a wild balance by combining a selection of Espadín and wild Tobalá agaves, aged between 5 and 14 years. It offers a more complex and floral profile. The description highlights a harmonious fusion of delicate flowers and subtle smoke. Aromas include fresh herbs, wildflowers, and cooked agave, leading to flavors of resins, mud, a hint of smoke, and a spicy finish with notes of pink pepper and bitter cocoa.
Mezcal Unión El Viejo: A superior, limited-edition blend of farm-grown Espadín and wild Tobalá agaves, matured for 8 to 14 years. "El Viejo" (The Old Man) is an homage to the man who inspired the company's name and mission. This Joven mezcal has robust flavor notes with a slightly smoked profile. Tasting notes include butter, mint, cinnamon, mango, herbs, minerals, and wet soil, making it ideal to enjoy neat or in spirit-forward cocktails like the Old Fashioned or Negroni..
