ABOUT:

Doce Mezcal is a modern, women- and Black-owned brand founded by Gabriela Lawrence, Mia Tonelli, and Gaby Arce, built on the pillars of community, ethical sourcing, and conscious luxury. Produced in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, the spirits are crafted in collaboration with a third-generation family distillery led by Matriarch and Maestra Mezcalera Margarita Blas. Doce is deeply committed to sustainability, utilizing environmentally conscious, fully recyclable packaging and employing recycled water filtration at the palenque. Their production is strictly 100% plant-based and additive-free, honoring ancestral Zapotec traditions through earthen pit roasting with pine and oak, traditional stone tahona crushing, wild yeast fermentation, and double distillation in copper pot stills.



MEZCALS OFFERED:

  • Espadín: The brand’s signature expression is crafted from 100% Espadín Capón agaves that are hand-harvested after reaching peak maturity at 8 years. To ensure maximum flavor density, the quiotes (flowering stalks) are cut, and the agaves are left in the fields for an additional three months before harvest. The resulting spirit is clear, earthy, and botanically bright on the nose. The palate is well-rounded and dynamic, offering warm hints of pepper balanced by sweet notes of honey and a touch of oak. It finishes beautifully with a full-bodied, refined, and velvety smoothness.
