Proudly produced in Ahualulco within the high-altitude, sunny terrains of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Desolas stands apart from typical mezcals by honoring the distinct terroir of the region. Rather than cooking agave piñas in subterranean smoky pits, the brand roasts them in above-ground masonry ovens (hornos). This meticulous, deliberate process prevents the spirit from absorbing heavy char, resulting in a delightfully crisp, botanical-forward liquid. Inspired by the raw natural elements of the sun and the land, Desolas houses its spirits in beautifully designed, artisanal ceramic bottles that reflect a brilliant dialogue between Mexican contemporary sculpture and time-honored heritage.

Mezcal Blanco: The award-winning foundation of the brand, crafted entirely from 100% Salmiana agave—a massive varietal colloquially known as "maguey verde" that can take up to 25 years to reach full maturity. Because it is cooked above ground, it features a remarkably low-smoke, agave-forward character. The nose opens with vibrant aromas of fresh botanicals, bright lemon peel, and green chile. On the palate, it rewards the drinker with a crisp, smooth mouthfeel layered with citrus, dried herbs, and gentle spices, concluding with a refreshing splash of minerality.
Mezcal Reposado: A beautifully refined, aged expression that deepens the brand's connection between spirit, land, and time. Taking their flagship Salmiana profile and resting it carefully inside premium wood barrels, this expression introduces a rich complexity while maintaining the brand's low-smoke signature. The patience of the aging process rounds out the crisp botanicals, imparting a silky smoothness and introducing subtle notes of comforting oak, warm vanilla, and delicate baking spices to the palate.
Single Barrel Añejo (Series): An extraordinary, highly limited collection that merges the worlds of premium whisky and artisanal mezcal. Aged for an impressive 31 months in separate ex-bourbon barrels, this marks the first time a Salmiana agave has been aged for this duration and offered to the public. Housed in sophisticated black-and-white ceramic bottles, the individual barrels were placed at different heights in the aging facility to experience distinct microclimates. They are bottled individually at a robust 104 barrel strength:
