The brand is deeply rooted in San Juan del Río, a mythical high-altitude village blessed with steep mountain terrains, cooler temperatures, and fertile soils that naturally challenge the agaves, forcing them to concentrate their sugars and yield unmatched depth of flavor. Partnering in a co-ownership model with fifth-generation Maestro Mezcalero Don Rogelio Juan and his son Julio, Agua Mágica honors traditional, small-batch craftsmanship while directly empowering independent producer families. Adhering strictly to ancestral wisdom, the fully matured piñas are roasted in underground earthen pits with white oak for three days, crushed under a horse-drawn stone tahona wheel, naturally fermented with wild yeasts, and double-distilled in classic copper pot stills without any additives.
