Ponche Ilegal

Ponche Ilegal is a warm, deeply comforting take on traditional Mexican fruit punch that brilliantly marries the subtle smoke of unaged mezcal with a rich, aromatic brew of sweet piloncillo and cinnamon. Simmered with a vibrant medley of fresh guava, apples, cranberries, and tejocotes, this cozy, fruit-forward batch cocktail is spiked just off the heat, delivering a beautifully complex and highly shareable winter sipper.

Ingredients:

• 6 cups water

• 1 cone piloncillo

• 6 guava

• 0.5oz Tejocotes (Mexican hawthorn)

• 1 apple

• 1 handful of cranberries

• 3 cinnamon sticks

Instructions:

• Add everything to a pot and boil on medium heat for 10 minutes. Add 1 1/2 cups of Ilegal Joven.
