Negroni Noir
Negroni Noir is a moody, bitter, and beautifully spiced riff on the classic Italian cocktail that adapts seamlessly to the agave spectrum. It is mixed using 1 oz of either earthy The Lost Explorer Tobalá or smoky Espadín Mezcal as the robust foundation. The traditional template is then intriguingly altered by combining 3/4 oz of bitter Campari with a split modifier of 1/4 oz dry vermouth, 1/4 oz crème de cacao blanc (white cocoa liqueur) for a touch of smooth sweetness, and 1/4 oz of herbal, artichoke-based Cynar. Stirred together with a pinch of salt to amplify the flavors, it is strained into a rocks glass over a large ice cube and finished with an orange twist and a fine dusting of grated dark chocolate.
Ingredients:
1 oz / 35 ml The Lost Explorer Tobalà or Espadín
¾ oz / 25 ml Campari
¼ oz / 10 ml Dry Vermouth
¼ oz / 10 ml Creme de Cacao Blanc
¼ oz / 10 ml Cynar
Pinch of Salt
Instructions:
Stir all ingredients together with ice. Strain into an old fashioned glass filled with one large ice cube. Garnish with an orange twist and grated dark chocolate. Sip, look mysterious.
