M & M

Short for "Montenegro and Mezcal," this is a cult-favorite bartender's handshake. It is an incredibly simple, equal-parts cocktail stirred over a large block of ice, combining the roasted campfire smoke of the agave with the rich, botanical sweetness of Amaro Montenegro.

Ingredients:

  • 40 ml Amaro (e.g. Montenegro)

  • 40 ml Del Maguey Vida Clásico Mezcal

Instructions:

  • Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.

  • Prepare a garnish of orange (or lime) zest twist.

  • Stir all ingredients with ice.

  • Strain into an ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or a block of ice).

  • Express orange (or lime) zest twist over the cocktail and use as a garnish.
