Fisher's Mezcal Old Fashioned

A highly aromatic, deeply spiced take on the Old Fashioned. It uses purely mezcal for the base, sweetening it not with standard sugar, but with a rich, house-made cinnamon-anise syrup and a couple dashes of chocolate bitters.

Ingredients:

  • 1½ oz. mezcal

  • ¾ oz. Cynar

  • ¼ oz. Demerara syrup

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

  • 2 dashes orange bitters

Instructions:

  • Stir all the ingredients with ice to chill then strain into rocks glass over a large ice cube and garnish.
