El Pepe
A deeply complex, vegetal, and alpine-forward sipper. It shakes artisanal mezcal alongside the intense, botanical profile of alpine génépy liqueur, brightened with fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, muddled basil, and a slice of spicy Fresno pepper.
Ingredients:
1 oz. Mezcal, such as Del Maguey Vida
½ oz. Génépy, such as Dolin
½ oz. Lemon Juice, freshly squeezed
¼ oz. Simple Syrup
2 leaves Basil
1 slice Fresno pepper, thin
4 dashes Angostura bitters
Basil leaf garnish
Instructions:
Add all ingredients to a Hybrid Cocktail Shaker with ice.
Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
Strain over a large rock into a Hybrid Cocktail Glass.
Garnish with a basil leaf.
