Inspired by the chill vibes of Baja and Tijuana’s legendary craft beer scene, Chicago’s Leña Brava's "La Playita" is a multi-dimensional drink that is both refreshing and unique.

It combines the earthy tones of mezcal and rum with a spicy kick of Ancho Reyes, all smoothed out with a burst of tropical fruit. To pull it all together, it's topped off with a crisp IPA for a bright, hoppy finish.

HOW TO MAKE A "LA PLAYITA"

Ingredients:
​1 oz. spiced rum
1 oz. simple syrup (1:1)
3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
1/2 oz. espadin mezcal
1/2 oz. passion fruit purée
1/2 oz. guava purée
1/4 oz. chile liqueur
2 oz. tropical IPA

Instructions:
​Add all of the ingredients, except the IPA, to a shaker with ice and shake. Strain the cocktail over crushed ice in a glass. Top with the beer. Garnish with mint.
