Sunset in Matatlán

Sunset in Matatlán (Puesta de Sol en Matatlán) is a visually striking, deeply Oaxacan cocktail that captures the golden hour over agave fields using the smoky, balanced profile of Casa Xamu Espadín mezcal. It builds a bright, fruit-forward base directly in an ice-filled tall glass by combining 2 oz of the Espadín mezcal, 1 oz of fresh orange juice, and 1 oz of fresh pineapple juice. A delicate pour of 0.5 oz grenadine is added and gently stirred, creating a stunning sunset gradient of orange, pink, and gold. This sweet, nostalgic sipper is elegantly finished with a fresh orange slice and an aromatic sprig of rosemary, making it the perfect tribute to the mezcal capital of the world.
