Mexican Coffee Cocktail
Mexican Espresso Cocktail is a sophisticated, deeply satisfying digestif that brilliantly marries the rich, roasted complexity of freshly brewed espresso and coffee liqueur with the artisanal smoke of Del Maguey mezcal. Shaken vigorously with a touch of sweet agave syrup and strained over fresh ice, this beautifully balanced, invigorating sipper is elegantly finished with an expressed orange peel and an aromatic cinnamon stick.
Ingredients:
1½ oz Del Maguey Vida Clásico
1 oz freshly brewed espresso, cooled
¾ oz coffee liqueur
½ oz agave syrup
Orange peel for garnish
Cinnamon stick for garnish
Ice cubes
Instructions:
Prepare Your Espresso: brew a fresh shot of espresso and allow it to cool slightly.
Chill Your Glass: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add a few ice cubes to your serving glass to chill it.
Combine Ingredients: empty the ice from your glass. Add Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, cooled espresso, coffee liqueur, and agave syrup to your cocktail shaker.
Shake vigorously: seal your shaker and shake for approximately 15 seconds until well-chilled and slightly frothy.
Strain and Serve: strain the Mexican coffee cocktail into your chilled glass over fresh ice.
Garnish: express the oils from an orange peel over the drink, then add the peel and a cinnamon stick as garnish.
