Banderilla
Banderilla is a vibrant, bittersweet sour that reimagines the classic apricot-led Toreador with an agave-forward punch. Shaken to a frosty chill with a balanced split base of smoky mezcal and crisp blanco tequila, it harmonizes lush apricot liqueur, fresh lime juice, a splash of bittersweet orange aperitivo, and a touch of saline before being strained over fresh ice.
Ingredients:
22.5 ml Del Maguey Vida Clásico Mezcal
22.5 ml Patrón Silver blanco tequila
22.5 ml Apricot (brandy) liqueur
22.5 ml Lime juice (freshly squeezed)
3 drops of saline solution (20g sea salt to 80g water) or a mere pinch of salt
Instructions:
Select and pre-chill an old-fashioned glass.
Prepare a garnish of a lime wedge.
Shake all ingredients with ice.
Stain into an ice-filled glass (preferably a large cube or chunk of block ice).
Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim.
