Al Pastor Margarita
The Al Pastor Margarita is a unique and delicious cocktail that offers a smoky twist on a classic. It perfectly balances the bold smokiness of Del Maguey Mezcal with the tangy citrus notes of a margarita, all accented by a spicy kick of chili and a hint of sweet pineapple.
Ingredients:
2 oz Del Maguey Mezcal (choose your favorite)
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz pineapple juice
1/2 oz triple sec (or any orange liqueur)
1/4 oz agave syrup (optional for sweetness)
1/2 tsp chili powder (or tajín seasoning)
Salt and chili powder mix for the rim
Ice cubes
Lime wedge, pineapple slice, and chili pepper for garnish
Instructions:
Prepare the Rim: Start by preparing the glass. Mix chili powder and salt on a small plate. Wet the rim of your glass with a lime wedge and dip it into the chili-salt mixture to coat the edge.
Mix the Cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, add Del Maguey Mezcal, fresh lime juice, pineapple juice, triple sec, and agave syrup (if you prefer a slightly sweeter drink). Add ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
Strain and Serve: Strain the mixture into your prepared glass, filled with ice cubes.
Garnish: Garnish with a lime wedge, a slice of pineapple, and a small chili pepper for an added touch of spice.
