Rey Campero Mezcal

ABOUT:

The history of Destiladora Sánchez, the producer of Mezcal Rey Campero, is deeply rooted in the culture and tradition of Candelaria Yegolé, Oaxaca, spanning four generations of artisanal mezcal production since 1890. The tradition was founded by Clara Manzano de Sánchez, representing the first generation.

Her legacy was carried forward by the second generation's Nicolás Sánchez and the third generation's Leopoldo Sánchez and Tío Ramiro Sánchez, who contributed their knowledge and mastery of unique recipes.

Today, the passion and heritage are preserved by Tíos Vicente and Valentín. The Mezcal Rey Campero brand itself was officially established in 2012 with an Espadín variety, and the company currently offers over 10 varieties of wild agaves, maintaining a mission to respect and preserve the knowledge of their mezcal-making legacy.
